ECC beats Brockway in D-9 team tennis semifinals

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusaders tennis team advanced to the District Nine Team Tennis finals with a 5-0 victory over the Lady Rovers of Brockway in the semifinals held on Monday afternoon at Benzinger Park.
"Today we started the first round of this year’s District Team Tennis tournament against a young but improving Brockway squad. Brockway has a very nice team, they are well coached; they played very well today," said Pete Meier, ECCHS head coach. "We played some of our best tennis so far and the girls came away with a well-deserved win."

Lady Dutch top Curwensville 3-1 in volleyball

The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch volleyball squad upped their record to 7-3 on Monday evening with a 3-1 victory over the visiting Curwensville Lady Tide. St. Marys won the first game 25-17, then Curwensville came back to take the second game by a 25-11 score. The Lady Dutch regrouped and came on to take the next two games 25-22 and 25-17 to win the match.

Lady Dutch soccer match suspended with DuBois on top 6-1

The soccer game between the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch and the DuBois Area Lady Beavers was suspended Monday afternoon with approximately 20 minutes left in the match due to lightning in the area.
The Lady Beavers held a 6-1 advantage over the Lady Dutch when the match was suspended.
DuBois got on the board with 32:02 left in the first half, taking the 1-0 lead.
The Lady Beavers increased their lead to 2-0 with 28:53 left in the first period.
DuBois went up 3-0 with 19:43 left in the first half as they took advantage of the keeper being out of the goal.
