Six members of the St. Marys Area Flying Dutch football team were named to the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference (KSAC) all-star teams for the 2010 season.
Senior Robert Rollick was named to the first team offensive line and first team defensive line.
Junior Justin Quiggle was named to the first team offense as a slot back, while senior Kyle Schneider was named to the first team as a linebacker.
Receiving second team honors were senior Kevin Hoy at fullback, junior Jimmy Werner at defensive end and junior Brian Merritt at corner back.
The Curwensville Golden Tide captured the District 9 Class A football championship Saturday afternoon by defeating the Port Allegany Gators by a 37-21 score. The game was played at Frank Varischetti Field in Brockway.
The Tide scored 12 points in the first period of play to take a 12-0 lead. The Gators came back with a touchdown in the second quarter, cutting the Curwensville lead to 12-7 at the half.
Curwensville put 18 points on their side of the board in the third quarter while limiting Port to a touchdown. Curwensville led 30-13 after three quarters of play.
