Led by Jimmy Werner’s 29 points, the St. Marys Area Flying Dutch basketball team raised their record to 5-1 on the season with a 57-48 victory over the Clarion Bobcats Friday night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
The Dutch used a strong second half to defeat the Bobcats. Clarion held a slim 26-24 lead at the half, only to see St. Marys outscore them 33-22 in the second 16 minutes of play.
“I thought we had a sluggish start which was the effect of a long road trip (to Coudersport) last night,” said St. Marys coach Mark Guido.
