Residents receive water shutoff messages in error

In the days leading up to Tuesday, residents throughout St. Marys and Fox Township received automated phone messages from the St. Marys Water Authority informing them that their water would be shut off on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. According to water authority secretary Dorothy Meyer, many of those calls were sent out by mistake.
“We have a new automated system that will call customers in an affected area,” Meyer explained.

Benezette, Dagus Mines post offices under review by USPS

The United States Postal Service (USPS) released a list on Tuesday afternoon of around 3,700 post office locations across the United States that are currently under review for possible closure. Of those locations, two are in Elk County: Benezette and Dagus Mines.
In a release issued Tuesday by the USPS on its website, the organization discussed the reasoning behind its review of the offices.
