Adeline E. Lenze

Adeline E. Lenze, 89, of 155 Cross Road, St. Marys, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 1, 1922, in St. Marys, daughter of the late William and Adeline Cannon Minnick. On November 8, 1941, in the Sacred Heart Church, she married Mark C. Lenze, who preceded her in death on June 11, 2010.

Manhunt comes up empty-handed

Editor's Note: As of press time Thursday evening, the search for Desantis had resumed in the Johnsonburg area amid reports that he had been spotted. He had not yet been apprehended.
A foot pursuit and aerial search through the woods off Montmorenci Road for Jamie Lee Desantis, a fugitive who violated parole for unknown charges, were fruitless yesterday after a three-hour hunt.
Desantis was facing a state parole and had been sent to Erie County to a halfway house and had apparently not reported back to his quarters.

Make-A-Wish benefit planned for Aug. 27

For the second year in a row, a car show to raise funds to benefit Make-A-Wish will be held rain or shine in St. Marys; however, this year's event has been moved to the parking lot of Tractor Supply, located along the Million Dollar Highway. Last year's event was held at the Edgewood.

Bucktail Council to hold annual memorial service

Camp Mountain Run will be the site of the Bucktail Council Boy Scouts of America annual memorial service at the chapel.
The service will be Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m., taking place in its usual spot as the second Saturday in September each year. This is the 18th year for the service with the first service taking place on Aug. 20, 1994.

Protesters voice dissent over gas drilling

An estimated 54 protesters expressed their concerns about the environmental impact of Marcellus Shale gas drilling during the recent "Picnic on the Wellpad" event, held inside the S.B. Elliott State Park in Clearfield County.
The event was held as part of a business-to-business networking event by the DuBois Chamber Energy Committee and the Clearfield County Economic Development Corporation's Energy Team.
The park is part of the Moshannon State Forest and drilling company EOG Resources, Inc., has established several drilling sites on the property.
