In order to meet an anticipated cash match level for federal grant dollars for the rural planning organization (RPO) at the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission (NCPRPDC), officials voted Wednesday morning to increase the per capita rate for the six counties to 16.3 percent for 2013.

Alma D. Slate, 78, of Loveland Colo., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at her residence after a short illness. She was born Oct. 29, 1934 in St. Marys, PA, daughter of the late Dort and Ottie Urbancic. On Sept. 19, 1959, in Denver, Colo., Alma married Clarence E. Slate, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2009.
After graduating from high school, Alma entered the United States Navy. She served five years, with her last position bringing her to Denver, Colo.
Alma was devoted to her family and friends and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
