Pip is once again scheduled to appear on NBC's "The Voice" tonight during a two-hour live show that will run from 8 to 10 p.m. He will once again need votes to continue to advance-- if he makes it past an instant elimination by his coach, Adam Levine.
Catherine M. (Kay) Micale, 98, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of the Million Dollar Highway, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Pinecrest Manor after a brief illness.
She was born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 23, 1914, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Exler Donovan. On Sept. 7, 1936, in the St. Joseph's Church in Carnegie, she married Peter A. Micale, who preceded her in death on June 25, 1986.
Mrs. Micale was a graduate of Pittsburgh schools and had resided in the St. Marys area since 1954. She was a former employee of the Joseph Horne Department Store in Pittsburgh.
Freda M. Fox, 85, formerly of 434 Pattison St., St. Marys, died Friday, April 20, 2012 in the Mountain Laurel Nursing Home, Clearfield.
Born Oct. 2, 1926 in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Lena Woefel Silvis and was raised by the late Michael and Mary Heigel.Â
On March 28, 1946, in Brockway, she married James L. Fox, who preceded her in death on June 27, 2002.
She attended St. Marys High School and had been employed at Sylvania and later at Keystone and Hour Glass Cleaners.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and St. Anne Society.
Jeffrey J. (Dad) Erich, 51, of Maple Ave., Ridgway, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at home, in the arms of his wife, leaving behind many broken hearts.
He was born Jan. 27, 1961, in Ridgway, the son of John and Judith Shipe Erich of Kersey.
He graduated from St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1979. He was employed at Morgan AM&T. He was an avid reader, and he was a big Steelers fan.

Elk County Relay for Life team "Ray of Hope" has put on some interesting events to raise funds for the American Cancer Society in past years. They've had a "Win a Date for Charity" auction and flooded residents' yards with pink flamingos in their "You've Been Flocked" campaign. This year, they hope to escalate the fun level while supporting a good cause with their "Wackiki" Hawaiian luau.
The Elk County Community Recycling Center recently added the collection of used cooking oil to the list of services it offers to area residents.
Bekki Titchner, Elk County recycling/solid waste coordinator, explained that the material is being collected at the center's location in the Stackpole Complex in St. Marys during normal hours of operation.
1-2-3-4! Fox Township Elementary School is declaring a lemonade war as part of the school's fundraising efforts for the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), an organization committed to raising money for childhood cancer research.
A Lemonade Drive-Thru and bake sale, which is open to the public, will take place in front of the school on Tuesday from 3:45-5 p.m.
Proposed cuts in the state budget combined with the loss of federal funding will take their toll on Citizens Against Physical, Sexual and Emotional Abuse, Inc. (CAPSEA), said CAPSEA Executive Director Billie Jo Weyant.
CAPSEA, which operates in Elk and Cameron counties, provides housing, meals, counseling, accompaniment, referrals, transportation and support to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence and other serious crime victims and their significant others/children. Victims may stay at the emergency shelter located in Elk County for 30 days or more without charge.
A trio of black bear cubs who were orphaned after their mother was hit by a car earlier this week in Union County have now been reintroduced to new sows who also have cubs of their own.
Pennsylvania Game Commission Wildlife Conservation Officer (WCO) Doty McDowell heard about the cubs after receiving an email from the PGC's regional office and took two of the cubs-- both males --to reintroduce to collared sows with cubs in his coverage area.

WEEDVILLE - Representatives form EQT Corporation, a Pittsburgh-based natural gas company, were present at Thursday's meeting of the Jay Township Board of Supervisors to declare their intent to frack wells at the company's Grey Hill Road site.
