The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch soccer team picked up a 4-2 win over Port Allegany on Wednesday afternoon at the SMAHS soccer field.
The St. Marys Area Dutch soccer team added another win to their season record on Tuesday afternoon, shutting out the Kane Wolves 4-0 at the SMAHS soccer field.
"I'm happy for the kids. We were able to score four goals, which was tied with our season high so far," said St. Marys Area coach Russ Micale. "They played a good, solid game the whole time. I'm proud of them."
The Dutchmen also scored four goals in their 4-3 road win over Smethport on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Dalton Gennocro had two goals for St. Marys in Tuesday's contest, while Jarrod Lipsey and Tim Mosebarger each had one.
The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch volleyball team defeated the Johnsonburg Ramettes by a 3-1 score Tuesday night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
St. Marys won the first set by a 25-21 score. They took the second set by a 25-18 score. Johnsonburg won the third set by a 25-21 score. The Lady Dutch won the match by taking the fourth set by a 25-22 score.
St. Marys City Councilman Gary Anderson briefly voiced his concern about the Rt. 255 construction project and the frequent traffic jams experienced by local drivers at a recent meeting.
He noted that traffic is sometimes backed up from Walmart to Dairy Queen, causing issues for students and employees attempting to get to work and school on time. Fellow C uncilman Greg Gebauer added emergency vehicles are also having difficulty in getting through traffic.
An upcoming program will help parents teach their young children about the formation of faith, values and virtues.Â
Pauline H. (Punky) Dilley, 25, of 331 First Ave., Johnsonburg, died on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 in Clearfield, due to a two-car automobile accident there.
She was born on July 31, 1987 in St. Marys, the daughter of Pauline Stahli Dilley and the late Earl O. Dilley.
She resided in Johnsonburg all of her life. She attended Johnsonburg Area High School and received her GED.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and a full-time mother.
