Members of the Elk County Solid Waste Authority discussed the impact a new electronics recycling law that takes effect in January may have on operations at the Elk County Community Recycling Center.
Elk County Solid Waste/Recycling Coordinator Bekki Titchner said as of Jan. 24, the state will prohibit "covered devices," or electronics like televisions, computers, keyboards, printers and accessories from being deposited in landfills. Municipal waste trucks will no longer be able to collect these items curbside for disposal at a landfill.
The Elk County Catholic Crusader golf team defeated St. Marys 207-235 on Wednesday afternoon in a match played at the Bavarian Hills Golf Course.
The medalist for the day was Elk Catholic's Mitchell Struble with a five-over-par round of 40.
Also for the Crusaders, Elliott Struble and Kristy Hanes each carded a 41, Brandon Schlimm had a 42, Bruno Cavalline and Jess Jaynes each shot 43, Drew Meyer recorded a 44, and Garrett Reuscher finished with a 57.
The low scorer for St. Marys was Owen Schreiber with a 42.
