FOX TWP. â€“ Rural Pennsylvania communities need to work together and join voices in advocating for policies that benefit them and showing why they are an attractive place to live and work, according to one Commonwealth resident familiar with the challenges and benefits of living in a rural community.
Irene A. O'Rourke, 86, of 804 Rasselas Rd., Wilcox, died Sunday morning, Jan. 20, 2013, at Elk Haven Nursing Home in St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born March 6, 1926 in Wilcox, daughter of the late Edward and Alice Retzer Powell.
On June 14, 1945 in St. Ann's Church, Wilcox, she married Calvin S. O'Rourke, who survives.
Margaret M. Dugan, 93, formally from Lake Shore Dr., Chicago, Ill., died Jan. 7, 2013 at the Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago after a long illness. â€¨Born on Nov. 4, 1919, in Brockway, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia Suhanowski Dugan.â€¨Margaret graduated Valedictorian from Brockway High school in 1938. She went on to attend secretarial school and have a successful career, which included being the secretary to Federal Judge Edwin Robson â€¨before working at the University of Chicago Law School, where she was secretary to the Dean.
