The Clarion Bobcats remained undefeated on the season as they handed the St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen a 46-0 KSAC loss last night at Dutch Country Stadium on homecoming night for the Dutch.
Recently Northwest Savings Bank presented a $40,000 check to the Elk County Community Foundation to be utilized as part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) which will make grants available to area public schools to support innovative educational programs that do not fall within the typical academic program.
The funds for these innovative programs are administered and distributed through the foundation, which has been designated to serve as an Educational Improvement Organization by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Rebecca Bauer Towne, 48, of 307 Cook Ave., Ridgway, died on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following injuries received in an automobile accident in ClearïŹeld County.
She was born Nov 2, 1964 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Clarence "Lefty" and Phyllis Ford Bauer.
She was married to David Towne, who survives.
Ila G. Kraus, 83, of 733 Theresia St., St. Marys, died on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 14, 1930 in Benezette, a daughter of the late David and Mildred English Swackhammer.
On June 23, 1956 in St. Marys' Church, she married the late A. Raymond Kraus, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Mrs. Kraus was a member of Faith Baptist Church.Â She attended Benezette schools and graduated from Weedville High School.Â She retired from Stackpole Carbon Company after many years of service.Â She enjoyed spending time with her
Lena M. Raybuck, 79, of Smith Street, Ridgway, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013.
She was born in Portland Mills on Oct. 13, 1933, daughter of the late Perry and Mae Magee Dunn.
On Nov. 29, 1959, she married James P. Raybuck, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2012.
Jerald W. Allshouse, 40, of Washington, and a former resident of Dagus Mines, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at his residence.
He was born June 28, 1973 in Jamestown, N.Y., son of William F. and Dixie Johnson Allshouse of Dagus Mines.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1991, and had resided in Washington since 2003.
Mr. Allshouse was an active member of the Family Worship Center in Pittsburgh, enjoyed computers, and took corresponding courses at the Art Institute.
The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader soccer team won their seventh straight contest as they defeated the DuBois Central Lady Cardinals by a 2-1 score Thursday afternoon at Benzinger Park.
Elk Caholic is now 7-5 on the season.
The Elk County Catholic Crusader soccer team avenged an early season loss on Thursday evening as they shut out the DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals 3-0 in a match played at Angela Huey Memorial Field at Fox Township Community Park in Kersey.
The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch soccer team was able to even the score once in Thursday afternoon's match with Port Allegany. When the Gators pulled ahead again, the Dutchmen put in a good effort to try to force overtime in the final seconds, but the goal was disallowed due to interference with the goalie and the Gators took the 2-1 victory.
