Lena M. Raybuck

Lena M. Raybuck, 79, of Smith Street, Ridgway, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013.
She was born in Portland Mills on Oct. 13, 1933, daughter of the late Perry and Mae Magee Dunn.
On Nov. 29, 1959, she married James P. Raybuck, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2012.

Jerald W. Allshouse

Jerald W. Allshouse, 40, of Washington, and a former resident of Dagus Mines, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at his residence.
He was born June 28, 1973 in Jamestown, N.Y., son of William F. and Dixie Johnson Allshouse of Dagus Mines.
He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1991, and had resided in Washington since 2003.
Mr. Allshouse was an active member of the Family Worship Center in Pittsburgh, enjoyed computers, and took corresponding courses at the Art Institute.

Lady Crusader soccer downs DuBois Central 2-1

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader soccer team won their seventh straight contest as they defeated the DuBois Central Lady Cardinals by a 2-1 score Thursday afternoon at Benzinger Park.
Elk Caholic is now 7-5 on the season.

Crusader soccer shuts out Cardinals 3-0

The Elk County Catholic Crusader soccer team avenged an early season loss on Thursday evening as they shut out the DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals 3-0 in a match played at Angela Huey Memorial Field at Fox Township Community Park in Kersey.

Dutch soccer unable to rally against Gators

The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch soccer team was able to even the score once in Thursday afternoon's match with Port Allegany. When the Gators pulled ahead again, the Dutchmen put in a good effort to try to force overtime in the final seconds, but the goal was disallowed due to interference with the goalie and the Gators took the 2-1 victory.

'Ride Toward the Cure' on Oct. 12

On Saturday, Oct. 12, T-Bones Off Road Club will once again host its annual “Ride Toward the Cure” to promote breast cancer awareness.

The Elk County Catholic Crusader golf team defeated the visiting Kane Wolves on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 194-258 in a match played at Leaning Pines Public Golf Course.
The Crusaders' team score was a season low for the squad.

Lady Dutch tennis shuts out Bradford 9-0

The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch tennis team improved to 7-3 on the season with a 9-0 victory over the Bradford Lady Owls Wednesday afternoon at the SMAHS courts.
