St. Marys Area School District's Board of Directors workshop meeting was held Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in the St. Marys Area High School library. Following roll call, seniors Brianna Nussbaum and Cassandra Daniels presented on their experience at the Pennsylvania School Board Association Leadership Conference.
Janice M. Molella, 80, of Cushing Avenue, Johnsonburg, died late Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at UPMC Hamot of Erie after a short illness.
She was born April 15, 1933 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Herman and Helen (Koppitch) Grabofski.
A graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School, Class of 1951, she had been employed as an LPN at the hospital in St. Marys for 40 years.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and lived all her life in Johnsonburg.
Louise M. Bauer, 88, of St. Marys, died Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 29, 1925 in Force, daughter of the late Charles and Josephine (Andresak) Michuck. She married Robert M. Bauer, who preceded her in death on Apr. 5, 1987.
She is survived by four sons, Robert M. Bauer II of St. Marys; Charles L. Bauer of Webster, N.Y.; Stephen P. Bauer and his wife Lisa of St. Marys; Frederick G. Bauer of Irwin; and two granddaughters, Rachel and Michelle Bauer.
The Fox Township Supervisors began their Wednesday evening meeting by observing a moment of silence for Blaine E. "Skeeter" Wildnauer Jr., a Fox Twp. volunteer firefighter who died in the line of duty on Saturday.
In a fitting tribute honoring fallen firefighter Blaine E. "Skeeter" Wildnauer, Jr., of Kersey, a solemn procession was held Wednesday morning which included dozens of fire departments from four counties.
Wildnauer, 58, died Saturday morning in the line of duty while responding to a traffic crash on the Old Kersey Road. A lifelong resident of the area, Wildnauer dedicated 40 years of service to the Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department.
The St. Marys Area High School held its fall sports awards program Tuesday night in Carpin Auditorium. Those student/athletes participating in girls' tennis, volleyball, boys' and girls' cross country, boys' and girls' soccer and golf were recognized.
QUEHANNA â€“Â The 86 individuals drawn for elk licenses in this year's drawing represented only a small fraction of the 22,331 hunters who applied. Additionally, many of those individuals had been applying for years and had accrued a number of preference points, resulting in 116,734 entries being in this year's drawing.

Joseph Castellani, 94, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 25, 1919 in Weedville, son of the late Luigi and Rosa (Aloisi) Castellani.
He married Anna (Veges)) on May 8, 1954 and lived all his life in Bennettâ€™s Valley
Joseph was a carpenter in Bennettâ€™s Valley for many years. He served as staff sergeant with the Army Air Corps during WWII.
Michael Paul Jundzilo, 30, of Culbertson, Mont., formerly of 224 Maplewood Ln., Johnsonburg died Friday evening, Nov. 1, 2013 as the result of an automobile accident between Sidney and Culbertson, Mont.
He was born on May 28, 1983 in St. Marys, son of Gary M. and Diane Northrop Jundzilo, who survive.
He resided in Montana for the past year and lived most of his life in Johnsonburg.
He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School in 2001. He was employed at Excel Industries, in Montana.
Michael was involved in Cub Scouts, Pack 82 and loved hunting and fishing.
St. Marys has a new mayor and a tight race in Fox Township ended with a six-vote margin at the conclusion of the Tuesday election.
Bob Howard, who was once the mayor of Ridgway, was successful Tuesday in his campaign for mayor of St. Marys. He earned 1,460 votes, good enough to top Lyle H. Garner who had 1,083 votes.
