ST. MARYS – On Saturday, gun rights advocates gathered nationwide to commemorate the first annual "Gun Appreciation Day," an event organized by gun advocacy groups in response to president Barack Obama's initiating 23 executive actions aimed at curbing gun violence.
ST. MARYS - The St. Marys City Police Department reports that charges have been filed against a female juvenile who claimed to be the victim of a kidnapping attempt outside St. Marys Area High School on Wednesday night.
William J. MacDonald, 80, of 238 Monterey Avenue, Ridgway, died at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 19, 2013 following a lengthy illness.
He was born February 5, 1932 in Ridgway, a son of the late Maurice and Mary Kielocker MacDonald.
On April 24, 1965 in St. Leo's Church, he married Filomena "Dolly" Magrini MacDonald, who survives.
He was a graduate of Ridgway High School. He retired from E&G Auto Parts after many years of service.
Linda M. Gigliotti, 65, of 408 High St., Johnsonburg, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 19, 2013, at UMPC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 22, 1947 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Bronislaw and Anna Simchick Golebieski.
On Oct. 30, 1976 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married David Gigliotti, who survives.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life. She graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1965 and Villa Maria College in 1972.
