Joseph M. Rubino, 81, of 484 Main St., Kersey, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013.
He was born April 16, 1931 in New York, a son of the late Michael and Beatrice Kemendo Rubino.
His first wife was Marjorie Gahr Rubino, who preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 1995.Â He then married Marie Calhoun McHone Rubino, who survives.
Evelyn M. Lewandowski, 91, of Silvercreek Terrace, St. Marys, died on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor.Â
She was born Nov. 21, 1921 in Kersey, a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Holberg Cuneo.
She was married to the late Antoni Lewandowski.
Mrs. Lewandowski was a member of St. Mary's Church.Â She retired from Sylvania after many years of service.Â She enjoyed word search puzzles and enjoyed snacking on marshmallows and Hershey kisses.
RIDGWAY - The trial of a Ridgway man charged with arson and related offenses following a Dec. 4, 2008 fire at 115 First Ave. in Johnsonburg began Wednesday in Elk County Court, with the man's son and co-defendant in the case serving as the prosecution's star witness in testifying against his father.
The Elk County Catholic Crusader basketball team picked up another victory on Wednesday evening as they defeated the visiting DuBois Area Beavers 60-42 in a game played at the ECCHS gymnasium.
The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch lost a 60-50 District 9 League game to the Bradford Lady Owls Thursday night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
