Alfred Edward Cheatle, 80, of 638 Virginia Rd., St. Marys, died Thursday evening, Jan. 31, 2013 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home after an illness of the past year.
He was born Sept. 2, 1932 in St. Marys, son of the late Frank and Catherine Caskey Cheatle. On May 25, 1957, in the Queen of the World Church, he married Doris T. Smith, who preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 2001.

Lady Dutch hold on to nip Lady Beavers 48-46

After a slow start, the St. Marys Area Lady Dutch basketball team came on to edge the DuBois Area Lady Beavers by a 48-46 score Friday night at the SMAHS Dutch Oven.
