Johnsonburg won the boys' basketball AML championship with a 47-35 victory over Elk County Catholic in the boys' AML championship game Saturday night at St. Marys Area High School.

Teresa Weidenboerner, 76, of 200 Bayberry Rd., St. Marys, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the Elk Regional Health Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 21, 1936 in Kersey, daughter of the late Henry and Theresa Jaeger Holtzhauser. On Sept. 9, 1974 in Frederick, Md., she married Andrew J. Weidenboerner, who survives.
Charles J. Polaski, 89, of Louisiana Lane, Johnsonburg, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the Snyder Memorial Health Care Center, Marienville.
He was born Oct. 6, 1923 in Ridgway, son of the late Pete and Stella Polaski. On March 7, 1962 he married Karen Elmquist, who survives.
He lived all his life in Johnsonburg and worked at the Johnsonburg Paper Mill for more than 43 years. He was Catholic by faith and enjoyed walking and gardening. He was a hard worker and enjoyed helping others.
Lisa M. DeMay, 44, of 229 Mill St., Johnsonburg, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys.
She was born on July 12, 1968 in St. Marys, the daughter of Donald and Lucille Asti Haight.
She married David A. DeMay on Aug. 25, 1990 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg. He survives.
Susan “Susie” Walter Bernstein, 55, a 25-year resident of Annapolis, Md., died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at her home after a 22-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on Feb. 28, 1957 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Irene and Martin Walter.

The Elk County Council on the Arts' newly renovated gallery, located on Main Street in Ridgway, is receiving positive acclaim for its impressive new look entailing a larger display area, a dramatic, detailed ceiling, enhanced lighting and dark flooring.
RIDGWAY - A Johnsonburg man charged with operating a methamphetamine lab out of his residence was sentenced in Elk County Court to five to ten years in state prison.
