RIDGWAY - The third man charged in the January 2011 knifepoint robbery of an elderly Johnsonburg man was in Elk County Court Monday where he pleaded guilty to his role in the home-invasion style attack.
St. Marys Area Middle School advanced science students and their teachers traveled to Wallops Island, Va. to learn about four different coastal environments and what connects each environment to surrounding habitats. These students had the unique opportunity to get a hands-on, feet-wet environmental experience.
St. Marys City Council approved a revised agreement with the HR Group to have John Riley on retainer at a cost of $250 per month, a fee he lowered from the previous cost of $500 per month.
George P. "Kayo" Hetrick, 84, of 143 Houston Rd., St. Marys, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at the DuBois Nursing Home after a brief illness.
He was born August 12, 1928, in Byrnedale, son of the late George and Kathryn McDaniel Hetrick. On November 8, 1952, in the St. Mary's Church, he married Arlene C. Reider, who survives.
Sheri R. Greak, 66, of 815 Middletown Rd., Lake City, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at Ridgmont Assisted Living Facility after a lengthy illness.
She was born June 6, 1946, in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Arthur B. and Ethel R. Snyder.
She married Leonard G. Greak (PSP) , and he predeceased her in death on April 29, 2003.
She graduated from Holy Ghost Academy, Mercy Hospital (Pittsburgh), and Hananaham (Philadelphia) with a degree in Nursing.
