Angeline Marie (Zuccolotto) Gradizzi, 95, of Kylers Corner Rd., Kersey, entered into eternal life early Sunday morning, June 30, 2013.
She was born Jan. 31, 1918, in Coal Hollow, daughter of the late Guido and Catherine Baruffalo Zuccolotto. On Dec. 23, 1939, at Holy Cross, Brandy Camp she married Rudolph (Dolpho) Gradizzi who predeceased her Dec. 30, 1982.
She had one son, Jerome Gradizzi, who predeceased her in December 1992.
Mary Lou Fleming, age 92, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home, formerly of Ridgway, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 30, 2013.
Mary M. Amacher, 77, of Lancaster, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in St. Marys, she was the daughter of the late Leander A. and Alice Sorge Haberberger.
Her husband LaRue F. Amacher died in 1984.
A devoted mom, Mary was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Lancaster. She cherished the times spent with her family
Two land development applications were tabled by St. Marys City Council on Monday evening until the next council meeting taking place on Monday, July 15. Among the two applications filed was one from the St. Marys and Benzinger Township Historical Society, located at 99 Erie Ave. The organization proposes to construct a 3,648 sq. foot museum and historical society. Stormwater management is not required by City ordinance and the development complies with the zoning regulations.
The upcoming St. Marys Independence Day Fireworks Display, taking place Wednesday, July 3, will feature an array of activities for young and old alike. The new location of the event at the St. Marys Municipal Airport has allowed for expanded space to host various attractions.
Gates will open at 6 p.m. with activities beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the fireworks display being lit at dusk.
RIDGWAY â€“ In March, Timothy Brian Pesce, of Kersey, was convicted by an Elk County jury of charges stemming from a Dec. 19, 2010 incident in which a Fox Township homeowner walked in on Pesce in the act of burglarizing her home.
The St. Marys Little League Softball Minor League (9-10 year olds) opened play Saturday in the District 10 tournament with a 5-3 win over the Warren squad at Benzinger Park.
The St. Marys Little League minor league baseball all stars dropped into the loser's bracket on Saturday afternoon with a 15-3 loss to Punxsutawney in a game played under threatening skies at Memorial Park.
