Burch D. Challingsworth

August 19, 2013

Burch D. Challingsworth, 69, of Conneaut Lake, died at home surrounded by his family on Monday, August 19, 2013.
He was born in DuBois on June 30, 1944, a son of the late Harvey and Zerda Marie Burch Challingsworth. 
He married Ruth I. Gardner on August 17, 1963 and she survives.

Multi-year CDBG project approved

A multi-year sewer line replacement and road improvement project was accepted by St. Marys City Council to submit for funding for the city's annual Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) Entitlement Program.
The city was notified on Aug. 6 their entitlement could be as much as $300,000. Earmarked in the funding is $54,000 or 18 percent of the grant for administration costs. This leaves $246,000 for project use.
On Monday evening, council approved the application for the project prepared by Tina Gradizzi, Community and Economic Development Coordinator and CDBG grant administration.

Plans underway for ECC Family Picnic

Plans are underway for ECC's Family Picnic and bonfire to be held Thursday, August 29. The evening will begin with Mass at 4:30 p.m. followed by a picnic dinner and games at 5 p.m. After dinner, the fall sports teams will be announced at the track. Memorial Park staff enjoy 'RECdiculous' summer

"RECdiculous" is a word coined by Memorial Park staff members Ben and Luke Daghir earlier this summer to mean "recreation at a ridiculously awesome level," a goal staff members strove for in all of their activities throughout the summer at the park.
