RIDGWAY â€“ Members of the Elk County Conservation District on Monday announced that maintenance work was completed at the West Creek Wetland Learning Center as well as river cleanup efforts on the Clarion.
This week representatives from the City of St. Marys plan to meet with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) regarding the city facing a violation for its failure in adopting or amending its ordinance to fit within the guidelines of the Elk County Stormwater Plan.
Emergency response crews were dispatched to County National Bank, 133 Washington St., in St. Marys on Monday afternoon following the report of an odor inside the building. The St. Marys Ambulance and Crystal Fire Department were both called to the scene at 3:44 p.m.

KANE â€“ Kane School District Superintendent Dr. Maryann Anderson has suspended high school teacher Jeff Gibbs for alleged violations of school policy.
According to sources, Gibbs reportedly has been suspended for 10 days and wonâ€™t be teaching Tuesday when classes resume.

Marie G. Ginther, 66, of 244 Fairview Road, Kersey, died while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at the Clearfield Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born July 1, 1947 in St. Marys, daughter of the late John â€śBuddyâ€ť Gradl and Georgia Beimel Gradl, who survives, of Kersey. On October 10, 1970, in the St. Boniface Church, she married David F. Ginther, who survives.
