LeRoy J. Neubert

LeRoy J. Neubert, 70, of 86 Worral St., Wilcox, died on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Dec. 15, 1942 in Benzinger, son of the late LeRoy E. and Anne Danko Neubert.
He married Doris Stewart on May 3, 1973 in St. Callistus Church in Kane, who survives.
Leroy resided in Wilcox all his life. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School in 1960.

Bavarian Fall Fest kicks off weekend of activities

The eight-member committee of the Bavarian Fall Fest have worked throughout the year in planning the 2013 festival.
This year the registration booth and main stage will be located directly off of the boulevard in the Market Street municipal parking lot. Vendors should visit the booth upon their arrival on Friday morning where a festival volunteer will escort them to their space.

Setting up the German House

Members of the St. Marys Heritage Preservation Group have setup a German House in an empty storefront on Railroad Street. The display is part of many activities taking place this weekend throughout St. Marys as part of the Bavarian Fall Festival.

Lady Crusader soccer defeats Kane 4-2

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader soccer team picked up their second win of the season on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated the visiting Kane Lady Wolves 4-2 in a match played at Benzinger Park.

Council sets special meeting to review stormwater draft ordinance

St. Marys City Council will gather during a special public meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. to review a draft ordinance of the Elk County Stormwater Plan, which is part of the state's Act 167.

Driver in Route 66 crash died of natural causes

The Elk County Catholic Lady Crusader volleyball team raised their record to 4-1 on the season with a 3-0 victory over the Sheffield Lady Wolverines Tuesday night at the ECCHS gym.

St. Marys earns 3-1 win Tuesday over Johnsonburg

After dropping the second game Tuesday night, the visiting Lady Dutch regrouped to dispatch the Ramettes 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20) on the volleyball court in Johnsonburg.

The St. Marys Area girls and boys cross country teams hosted Punxsutawney on Tuesday afternoon, with the Lady Dutch defeating the Lady Chucks 25-31 and the Chucks beating the Dutch 20-39.
