RIDGWAY â€“ The Footlighters will be performing "Wait Until Dark," a play by Frederick Knott on Sept. 19-21. The production will be a dinner theatre with doors opening at 5 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the play to start at 7 p.m.
Real estate taxes of over half a million dollars will be turned over to Elk County for collection per a motion approved by the St. Marys Area School District's board of directors.
The Elk County Catholic girls' tennis team defeated the Lady Dutch 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon in a match played at the SMAHS tennis courts.
The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch volleyball team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 3-0 victory over the Sheffield Lady Wolverines Tuesday night in a very warm SMAHS Dutch Oven.
The Lady Dutch won the first set 25-14, took the second set 25-19 and won the third set 25-15 to win the match.
The Elk County Catholic Crusader golf team lost their first match of the season on Tuesday afternoon as they came up short against the Ridgway Elkers 190-205 in a match played in Ridgway.
Ridgway's Josh Roselli was the medalist for the day with a round of 35. The low scorers for ECC were Elliott Struble and Jess Jaynes with 39s.
The St. Marys Area Dutch soccer team began a tough three-day stretch of games with a 4-1 loss to the visiting Smethport Hubbers on Tuesday afternoon at the SMAHS soccer field.
The match was also St. Marys' third in the last four days.
Leo W. Biel, 90, of 5861 Glen Hazel Rd., Wilcox, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 10, 2013, at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys following a short illness.
He was born April 11, 1923 in Portage, son of the late John and Anna Biel Biel.
He married Doris Rosa Hamilton on Sept. 20, 1947 in Brockway, and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2003.
He resided in Wilcox all his life and attended Wilcox schools. He was a member of Holy Cross Church in Rasselas.
FOX TWP. â€“ Fox Township residents will soon have improved access to the township garbage collection site. During their recent meeting the Fox Twp. Supervisors approved the construction of a new road to the site which would involve changing the entrance.
It's the second week of September and for St. Marys that means the 4th annual classic car and truck show is going to be rolling into town.
