KEATING TWP. â€“ A Smethport man,30-year-old John Frederick Brown Jr., has been charged with brutalizing a woman and terrorizing her family after allegedly attacking and raping a mother of three in the presence of her children, ages two, six and eight.

Ione M. Stenta, 87, of 414 Silver Creek Rd., Johnsonburg, died during the early morning of Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Pinecrest Manor in St. Marys following an lengthy illness.
She was born on August 25, 1925 in Ridgway, daughter of the late Raymond and Thelma Gardner McClintick.
She married Herman Mendat in 1950. He died in 1953. She then married Ferdinand Stenta in 1970. He died in 1996.
She resided in Johnsonburg for most of her life, graduating from Johnsonburg High School in 1944. She had lived in Ridgway for eight years.
Timothy P. Sette, 49, of 771 Washington Street, St. Marys, died unexpected at his residence on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
He was born March 17, 1964, in St. Marys, son of the late Dominick "Nick" Sette and Beverly Klancer, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1983. He was employed by the Keystone Powered Metal Co.
He was married to the former Katie Tornatore of Centre Hall, and she survives.
Pauline W. Olson, 86, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 580 Wolfel Ave., St. Marys, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Pinecrest Manor after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 20, 1926, in Altoona, daughter of the late Albert A. and Trescenna Laino Weidmann.
Reginald R. "Rich" Little, 71, of 193 Villa Road, St. Marys, died suddenly on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center.
He was born February 2, 1942 in McKeesport, a son of the late Clarence and Victoria Kacin Little.
On September 23, 1989 in St. Marys, he married Barbara Auman Little, who survives.
David L. Heigel, 79, of 235 Glasshurst Road, Brockport, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at his residence.
He was born June 25, 1933, in Kersey, son of the late John and Dagney Hedberg Heigel.
He was a lifelong resident of the area, having lived in Bennetts Valley until 2003.
He was a graduate of Weedville High School, Class of 1951, and was a retired employee of Airco Speer, retiring in 1994 after 30 years of service.
On September 24, 1971 in the First Lutheran Church in Ridgway, he married Jeanne F. Frey, and she preceded him in death on November 6, 2005.

This program was developed to address the lack of qualified leadership in rural areas, which is a major concern for many rural communities and the future growth of these communities. To date 83 participants have successfully completed the program from businesses, industry, education, the non-profit sector, police departments and local government agencies.
