A 3-run sixth inning was enough to give Ridgway baseball a 3-1 win over Elk County Catholic Tuesday afternoon at Sandy Beach Recreational Park.
Elk County Recycling Coordinator Bekki Titchner emphasized the vast amount of electronic items they are being inundated with at the Community Recycling Center in St. Marys. During Tuesday's Elk County Solid Waste Authority (SWA) meeting, Titchner attributed the upswing to the landfill ban which took effect in January and prohibits any computer (desktop or laptop), computer monitor, computer peripheral (printers), televisions, etc. be deposited at a landfill.
ST. MARYS – A local man is charged with sexually assaulting another man after the victim reportedly spurned his sexual advances.
Green ribbons will soon be seen throughout downtown Ridgway and St. Marys to remind passersby of the presence of Lyme disease.

St. Marys City Council approved a motion backing a loan guarantee for the Benzinger Township Golf Authority during a special meeting held Monday evening. The authority made their request during the April 15 City Council meeting.
ERIE – A St. Marys woman is throwing herself on the mercy of a federal court as she prepares to be sentenced next month for the theft of over $1 million from her former employer.
Headed into the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference in Hershey in the category of network design, Elk County Catholic High School sophomores Joe Tamburlin and Matt Feldbauer found themselves up against some tough competition.
Betty Joan Pounds Gagliardi, 76, of Nitrate Street, Tyler, died at home on Saturday, April 27, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 31, 1937 in Irvona, daughter of the late Edward Harper and Drucilla (Isenburg) Pounds.
On April 24, 1956 she married Dominick Gagliardi, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1974. Â
A housewife, she has been a Bennetts Valley resident since 1950. She enjoyed crocheting and especially her grandchildren.

The St. Marys Area Flying Dutch baseball team saw their record slip to 1-7 on the year with a 7-1 loss to the Williamsport Area Millionaires Saturday afternoon at Berwind Park.
Effective August 1 PNC Bank will no longer be a tenant in the City Hall building. The bank is vacating its current downtown location on Lafayette Street and will re-locate to the Million Dollar Highway.
St. Marys City Council discussed the real estate matter in an executive session during their most recent meeting.
