Jerry K. Grube, 79, of Clearfield, died Monday morning, March 10, 2014 at his residence.
Born Sept. 5, 1934 in St. Marys, he was the son of John and Claudia (Kramer) Grube.
On Nov. 26, 1959 he wed the former Anna Mae Heiberger who survives.
Mr. Grube had worked for Stackpole Carbon Factory, had worked as the office manager for Fullington Auto Bus Company, the Clearfield Hospital, and then retired from Kurtz Brothers School Supplies where he was the Manager of the Bid Dept. after 25 years of service in December of 1997.
The ongoing improvements to the Million Dollar Highway have led to a certain amount of frustration on the part of local residents. Potholes, traffic delays and equipment in residentsâ€™ front yards are a few of the problems that go along with road construction. Several business owners along the highway, however, say that construction hasnâ€™t slowed them down.
Among the latest personnel changes approved by the St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors are new hires of school drivers, support personnel, awarding of numerous supplemental contracts, a resignation, leaves of absence and transfer of support personnel.
The board approved an employment agreement between the district and Ginger Williams for the position of Business Manager. Terms of the the contract will run from June 1, 2014 to June 30, 2017.
JAMES CITY â€“ The Highland Township Board of Supervisors is gearing up for a possible court battle to block a proposed injection well for the disposal of drilling waste fluids.
Acting at a meeting Wednesday, Supervisors Jim Wolfe, Paul Burton Sr. and Joe Milstead approved an agreement for representation by the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund (CELDF) of Mercersburg.
