St. Marys Area sophomore Allie Wonderling brought home a medal from the PIAA Swimming and Diving Championships held at Bucknell University in Lewisburg.
On Saturday Wonderling placed fifth in the Class AA diving competition with a total of 378.95 points in the finals.
A steady crowd was on hand throughout Saturday at the 2014 Business Expo held at the Red Fern. The four-hour event, sponsored by the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce andThe River 98.9, provided visitors with an opportunity to peruse services and products available from area businesses. Among the 40 plus vendors were educational and banking institutions, organizations and several businesses ranging from construction and home repair/renovation businesses, computer technicians, healthcare, outdoors, real estate, jewelry, insurance, law enforcement, as well as a winery and travel agency.
Penn Highlands Healthcare is working with an independent emergency medicine physician group to assist with provider staffing in three of the system's emergency departments, including Penn Highlands Elk.

Kathryn Joan (Kathy) Moriarity, 31, of Brandy Camp Circle, Ridgway, died Friday, March 14, 2014 as the result of an automobile accident.
She was born Oct. 8, 1982 in St. Marys, daughter of Janet Meyer Pritt (Roy) of Ridgway and Michael and Lorraine (Dippold) Moriarity of St. Marys.
Mary E. Breakey, 89, of 46 Freedom Dr., Wilcox, died Friday evening, March 14, 2014 at Kane Community Hospital in Kane following a brief illness.
She was born Feb. 5, 1925 in Spangler, daughter of the late Aaron and Laura Moyer Folmar.
On June 29, 1946 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married LaVerne E. Breakey; he preceded her in death on July 21, 2009.
