Traffic signals adjusted due to construction

As work on the state Route 255 project continues in the area between Vine Street and State Street, questions and rumors can be heard around town related to a number of issues, including the traffic signals at the Vine Street and Arch Street intersections.
With Vine Street currently closed due to the installation of water and sewer lines, one frequently discussed topic relates to why the traffic signal at that intersection continues to function instead of simply flashing yellow until the intersection with Vine Street reopens.

Area could benefit from state grant

RIDGWAY – Earlier this month, the state Department of Labor and Industry, in partnership with the Department of Community and Economic Development [DCED] announced a new grant opportunity-- the Pa. Jobs1st Regional Partnership.
Governor Tom Corbett created the initiative as a way to better connect local workforce investment boards together with Partnerships for Regional Economic Performance [PREP] partners.

First area craft distillery plans to open April 9

KANE – Kane natives and longtime friends Sam Cummings Jr. and Tom Jones are embarking on a joint business venture-- the first of its kind in the area.
CJ Spirits, which bears the initials of its partners, is state licensed as the first "craft distillery" in Northwest Pennsylvania.
Using shiny new distillery equipment, CJ Spirits plans to soon produce its first batch of vodka for its opening set for Wednesday, April 9.
As just the 11th "craft distillery" licensed under a new state law, CJ Spirits will be both producing and selling products at its 2,500-square-foot complex on Willow Run.
