Kane area is evacuated after truck rams gas regulator

May 1, 2014

A major catastrophe was miraculously avoided Thursday in Kane when an alleged drunk driver in a pickup truck rammed a natural gas regulatory station on Oak Street.
"You dodged a bullet," said Bruce Manning, the director of the McKean County Emergency Management Agency (EMA). "If there had been a spark, there would have been a big fire."
Businesses, industries and homes in the area of Oak and North Fraley streets were evacuated for about one hour following the noon-time incident.
