The St. Marys American Legion Post 103 baseball team got their first win of the season with a 18-3 three-inning victory over Fox Township on Monday night at Berwind Park.
St. Marys hosts Mt. Jewett Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Council unanimously approved an ordinance establishing the procedure to set parking meter rates which allows them to be adjusted from time to time by council resolution.
A resolution was then approved to establish a uniform rate for parking meters within the city at a rate of 25 cents per hour. Councilmen Greg Gebauer and Lou Radkowski opposed the resolution.
This follows a controversy at the last meeting as to how many meters would have to be changed to allow for the correct currency.
Two St. Marys men are charged in a burglary incident that occurred between Jan. 12 and Jan. 13.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Jacob Edward Pfingstler, 22, and Benedict Earl Asti, 22, conspired with two known juveniles to commit burglary at 140 East Oilwell St.
Justin Michael Saline, 24, of St. Marys, was sentenced Monday to 24 months of probation
for a misdemeanor charge of corruption of minors.
Represented by attorney Christopher Mohney, Saline entered a guilty plea on March 3 and was required to undergo a psychosexual assessment by Project Point of Light.

A cruise-in will be held Friday starting at 4 p.m. with DJ Mookie on hand.

Peggy J. Thorwart, 85, of 203 Adams St., Ridgway, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys.
She was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Robert and Ella Truschinger Brownlee. On July 6, 1946, she married Jack Thorwart. She retired as a supervisor from Alltel after 31 years service. She had also been employed for a number of years at Ferragine Spas and Pools. She was a graduate of Ridgway Area High School, Class of 1946.
