The second-seeded St. Marys Legion baseball team opened the Elk County League playoffs on Wednesday night with a 5-0 shutout win over third-seeded Smethport under the lights at Berwind Park.
The Elk County Major League all stars eliminated the St. Marys squad from the District 10 Tournament on Wednesday by a 7-5 score in seven innings.
There are already over 170 attendees present at Wednesday's meeting at St. Marys Area High School regarding the local hospital in St. Marys.
Recently the St. Marys Rotary Club welcomed Jason Schreiber, Aubrey Weisner, and Deric Luvas from the St. Marys Recreation Department. Jason, Aubrey, and Deric talked about the upcoming circus, and also about Inner Park day coming up on July 8. They were the guests of Rotarian Greg Snelick and are pictured above with Greg and Club President Vern Kreckel III.
The St. Marys junior Little League baseball team opened play in the District 10 tournament with an 11-5 victory over DuBois on Monday evening at Memorial Park.
Starting tomorrow, tickets for the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce's 14th annual Wing Fling are going on sale.
"The Wing Fling is the biggest party of the summer in St. Marys. It also draws a very diverse crowd of people who just want to get together and have a great time," said Ashley O'Dell, Chamber outreach coordinator.
This year's Redneck Edition is sure to be a popular themed event with area residents.
The wing fling is taking place this year on Aug. 21 from 6-10 p.m. on Market Street in downtown St. Marys.
St. Marys' Kendall Young led the minor league all stars to a 6-1 victory over Punxsy on Sunday.
The Fox Township minor Little League All Star team was eliminated from District 10 play Sunday by an 18-8 score.
On Friday evening spectators from throughout St. Marys gathered in backyards, front porches and parking lots, to view the fireworks display which was part of the St. Marys Independence Day Celebration, sponsored by the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce.
The St. Marys Little League baseball Major League all star squad lost to the DuBois team by a 17-2 score Thursday night at Memorial Park in the semifinals of the winner's bracket. The game went five innings.
