RIDGWAY – "Mickey Mouse," "Anyone but this guy," "What?" and "Who?" were among the write-in votes penned by Elk County balloters in the May 22 municipal primary, according to results obtained through the Elk County Elections Office Friday.
EMPORIUM – On Nov. 5, 2012, a woman walked into the Cameron County Probation Office holding a shipment of stimulant "bath salts" intended for her son, which she had intercepted and wanted turned over to police.

Gerald W. Frey, 73, of 15 Jenks Run Rd., Emporium died unexpectedly at his residence Thursday morning, June 6, 2013.
He was born October 22, 1939 in St. Marys, a son of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Herzing Frey.
On May 16, 1964 in Rich Valley Wesleyan Church he married the late Carol Jordan Frey, who preceded him in death in 2005.
Around 100 area youngsters attended the Dinosaur Dig Kickoff event for the St. Marys Public Library's summer reading program on Thursday afternoon. The hourlong event was geared toward children in prekindergarten through fifth grade and featured a variety of activities related to dinosaurs.
RIDGWAY - Two teens have been charged in a crime spree that spanned two days and most of Ridgway Borough and which police say began with the vandalization of parked cars, progressed to their burglarization of an apartment building, and ended with the twosome joyriding in a stolen car.
O'Dells Lock and Key opened up shop at 208 Brusselles St. and celebrated their new storefront with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce.
Owner Nathan O'Dell started his business in 2010 as a mobile locksmith and decided to open a storefront in January. The business is located across the road from Sheetz.
The shop is currently opened with temporary hours of Monday through Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and Friday from 1-7 p.m.

The St. Marys American Legion Post 103 baseball team opened their season Wednesday evening by playing host to the Fox Twp. Post 511 at Berwind Park. Fox defeated St. Marys by an 8-3 margin.
William J. Mills, 62, of 234 N. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, died at the home of his son in Chambersburg on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 surrounded by his family following a very courageous battle with cancer.
He was born June 30, 1950 in St. Marys, a son of the late Richard and Grace Hammer Mills.
On January 11, 1974 in St. Marys, he married Penny Bauer Mills, who survives.
Sheryl M. Himes, 67, of 185 Center St., Elk Towers, St. Marys, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at her residence.
She was born August 27, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late James and Shirley Rawley Hopkins.
On January 12, 1979, in Willoughby, Ohio, she married Narue W. Himes, and he survives.
CUYAHOGA CO., OHIO - Russell Mason, 33, originally of St. Marys and most recently a resident of Wilcox, was sentenced to serve three years imprisoned in Ohio's Lorain Correctional Institution for his attempted rape of a 12-year-old girl in Cleveland.
