Solid Waste Authority holds reorganizational meeting

The Elk County Solid Waste Authority held a reorganizational meeting prior to their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
Many aspects of the group remained the same, as Russ Braun was reappointed as the authority's chairperson, Dick Dallasen as the authority's vice president and John Moran as the authority's secretary. Jim DeVittorio was also reappointed as the authority's solicitor.

Winklbauer to unveil his latest painting series

St. Marys artist Peter Winklbauer is showcasing his latest collection of 60 watercolor paintings during a one-man show as part of the Meet the Artist night on Friday, Feb. 4 at the Diamond View Restaurant and Lounge.
The showing will take place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the former St. Marys Country Club. The event is free and open to the public.
"I believe this is a culmination of my best work." Winklbauer said. "Painting is my life. It's not about selling works, but about creating them."

New owners for local monument company
