MT. JEWETT – If the number of bears processed over the weekend at the bear check station located at the Mt. Jewett Fire Hall in McKean County is any indication, hunters are meeting with quite a bit of success in their quest to bag a bruin this year.
Anyone using Medicare insurance products will have until Dec. 7 to make changes to their coverage plans under the “open enrollment” period.
Medicare is federal health insurance for people age 65 or older; people under 65 with certain disabilities; and people who have End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), or permanent kidney failure.
John Bricen, Jay Township's newly elected write-in auditor, in speaking before attendees at Thursday's meeting of the board of supervisors, began by thanking all those who has turned out to vote this past Election Day. Bricen also had the opportunity to address perceived discrepancies involving his campaign, specifically his campaign literature.
"There seems to be some controversy over my handout literature having the proper documentation on the bottom, having a complaint filed, I understand that, that happens," Bricen said.
