Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department Chief Scott Surra presented the department's annual report at the recent Fox Twp. Supervisors meeting.
In 2010 the Fox Twp. Fire Dept. was dispatched 100 times in 2010. The total estimated structural fire loss in 2010 in $448,000.

The Fox Township Supervisors approved several new business items at Wednesday evening's meeting.
One of the motions approved was to establish the Toby Water Board. The supervisors then appointed five members to the board, each of whose terms expires on December 31 of the appointed year. Toby Water board members include Mike Agosti with a term expiring in 2011, Mike Keller until 2012, Joe Largey until 2013, George Swanson until 2014 and Janet Ott until 2015.
BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – The Lee County Sheriff's Office in Bonita Springs, Fla. reports that John Joseph Vollmer, 64, of St. Marys, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 23 and charged with the solicitation of prostitution.
According to police, on Feb. 23 the Lee County Sheriff's Office Narcotics/Vice unit conducted a vice operation in the area of Bonita Springs, Fla. The focus of the operation was to make contact with females offering sexual services on the internet. In addition, the unit also focused on the males soliciting females from these internet web sites.

RIDGWAY - Thanks to multiple donations throughout the years, various programs offered to the community by the county's sheriff's department have continued to impact area residents.
JoAnne Ryan, CEO and president of Alpha Sintered Metals, recently made an undisclosed monetary donation to the department.

RIDGWAY - County officials discussed the possibility of saving over $40,000 a year by making county buildings more energy-efficient during a Tuesday morning board of commissioners meeting.
"We started on this over a year ago and we're working under the umbrella of the Department of General Services out of Harrisburg on an energy update project," said Jodi Foster, community and economic development coordinator for the county's planning department. "We want to make the county buildings as energy-efficient as we can under the GESA Act, the Guaranteed Energy Savings Act.
In recognition of Girl Scouts Week, taking place March 6-12, local leaders have organized an array of activities for girl scouts and their families.
This weekend, a Family Day will be held at the Apollo Theatre in downtown St. Marys. Doors will open at 3 p.m., with the movie Rango beginning at 3:30 p.m.
