Residents and business owners oppose area code split

Thursday night, representatives from the telecommunications industry, as well as local businesses and government officials, met at Gunners Restaurant in St. Marys to discuss the implications of a proposed area code change for the region slated to take effect in the first quarter of 2015.

Citizens Marcellus Shale Commission seeking public input

The Citizens Marcellus Shale Commission was recently formed to gain input from residents from across Pennsylvania regarding the impacts of Marcellus Shale drilling. Co-chaired by former state representatives Dan Surra and Carole Rubley, the group is in the process of holding a series of five hearings across the state to gain feedback so that a report can be prepared and sent to Governor Tom Corbett.
