DECA students bring home top places at districts

Over 30 St. Marys Area High School students are preparing for the state DECA competition taking place from February 22-24 in Hershey.
Recently 57 SMAHS students competed in the DECA District 1 competition held in December at the Royal Inn where 36 students advanced to the state competition by placing in the top three in 40 events.
"For most, this was their first academic award that they have received while in high school," said SMAHS DECA Advisor Michelle Jackson.

Judge Cleland sets schedule for Jerry Sandusky sex case

WETMORE TWP. - The judge overseeing the Jerry Sandusky criminal case is establishing a schedule for prosecutors and defense attorneys, and says he plans to hear argument on pretrial issues in less than three months.
The court system on Wednesday released an order by Judge John M. Cleland that requires the attorney general's office to turn over material to Sandusky's lawyers by Monday.
