Council approves pension plan update

October 8, 2012

St. Marys City Council has unanimously approved amending the non-uniformed pension plan, updating it for recent changes mandated by the Internal Revenue Service code.
The policy states if non-uniformed city employees are serving in the military on active duty, their pension will be turned over to their spouse in the event of their death. In addition, any raises that would have occurred in the timespan they were serving would go toward the plan's beneficiary.
