LUDLOW – The body of a Kane man who drowned with his wife when their canoe capsized Nov. 11 was recovered Tuesday from the Allegheny Reservoir.
November 19th
The 2013 City of St. Marys budget is available for review pending City Council's approval to advertise it during Monday's meeting. Council must adopt the budget before the end of the year.
"The rates for the 2013 [budget]-- our tax monies stayed exactly the same as last year," said City Manager Dave Greene.
There is no tax increase in the 2013 proposed budget as it is very similar to the 2012 budget. The general fund was balanced at $5,971,291 and reflects no increases in wages or changes in benefits for all employees.
LUDLOW – A State Police boat is scheduled to participate today in the search for the body of drowning victim in the Allegheny Reservoir.
Chuck Hall, chief of the Ludlow Volunteer Fire Department, said Monday evening that the State Police boat will launch today from Dunkle Corner on the reservoir. Several Ludlow firefighters again will be participating in the search, Hall said.

Now in its 17th year, St. Marys resident Laura Kuntz continues to collect donations for her Christmas in Kentucky program, a project which furnishes less fortunate families with Christmas gifts as well as everyday necessities.
Three years ago, following the implementation of $20,000 in cuts to the St. Marys Public Library's state funding, library director Scarlette Corbin first contacted the St. Marys Area United Way to request financial assistance in the form of a United Way allocation.
Area residents counted down to light up downtown St. Marys during Friday's annual Light Up Night festivities.
