RIDGWAY - A controversial lawsuit pitting the Elk County Board of Commissioners against the county sheriff's office was resolved with little fanfare Friday as following three hours of testimony both sides reached a settlement behind closed doors.
The Nicholas J. Sinibaldi Concert Band performed a Christmas Concert Spectacular on Friday evening inside the Queen of the World Church in St. Marys. Under the direction of Christopher Jon Gankosky, the band performed numerous pieces: "Ding Dong Merrily on High," "Compassion," "I Saw Three Ships," "Believe," "Bells of Joy," "A Festive Christmas Celebration," "Sleigh Ride," and a selection from the movie "Home Alone."
The band consists of 62 individuals from throughout the area, including Elk County, Emporium, Forestville, Canonsburg, York, DuBois, Johnstown and Indiana (IUP).
While Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital was eventually rebuilt at its original location, local historian Ray Beimel indicated that at least one piece of evidence has come to light suggesting that another site for the facility may have at least been considered.
