A holiday tradition in the form of a Santa House has returned to St. Marys. This year the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce spearheaded a project to bring back a Santa House for area families to enjoy.
Youngsters can visit Santa each Saturday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. through Dec. 15.

Hundreds of individuals representing area social clubs and organizations gathered in a town hall forum at South St. Marys Elementary School Wednesday night to discuss changes to the state's Small Games of Chance law.
Questions pertaining to the allocation of funding for the city's downtown parking garage were part of a lengthy discussion during Monday evening's City Council work session.
On Wednesday evening the Fox Township Supervisors approved the 2013 budget. The total expenditure for all funds in the budget is $2.3 million.

Elk County commissioners presented a tentative 2013 budget Tuesday morning without a tax increase during their board meeting.
A Pennsylvania-based natural gas company will be hosting an open house this week for Elk County residents who want to know more about Marcellus Shale drilling operations in the area.

The Elk County Board of Commissioners took another step in opposing the construction of an "injection well" by Seneca Resources along Lamont Road between state Route 66 and Highland Road near James City in Highland Township.
The Salvation Army is in need of volunteers for their annual Red Kettle Campaign.
To help fulfill the needs of the community, Lt. Esther Wilson of the Salvation Army in Ridgway has increased this year's goal from $32,000 to $42,000.

Following suit after other counties across the state, including McKean County to the north, the Elk County Board of Commissioners acted Tuesday to abolish the positions of jury commissioner.
The exclusion of the two positions will reportedly save the county $12,000

Members of the Ridgway Volunteer Fire Department responded Tuesday afternoon to what initially started out as an odor investigation at the Elk County Courthouse Annex in the 300 block of Center Street.
