Elk County was hit with a winter storm Wednesday afternoon, with some areas receiving nearly a foot of snow. Various events were canceled throughout the region and there were a number of traffic delays in municipalities and on SR 255 and SR 120 due to rapid snowfall and low visibility. Plow trucks were out and residents could be seen shoveling and snowblowing during the first wave, with more snow expected overnight.
