County taxes on the rise

RIDGWAY – The Elk County Board of Commissioners on Monday morning voted to accept a proposed 2014 budget with a one-mill increase, the first hike since 2009. The budget will be displayed for 20 days at the commissioners' office in the Courthouse Annex along Center Street in Ridgway.

Santa Paws raises funds for American Cancer Society

Following another successful Light Up Night this year, Santa Paws was able to raise $102, which will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Pictured with Santa Paws is Cailan Lenze.
