Members of the Cameron and Elk Counties Local Housing Options Team [LHOT] met Wednesday afternoon to continue preparations for the third annual housing expo on Feb. 7 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Edgewood Hall in St. Marys.

School board honors victims of school shooting at meeting

MARYS - The first St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors meeting of 2013 began Thursday with moment of silence in honor of the victims of the December 14, 2012 shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Conn. This coincided with discussion of how the district might heighten security efforts and safety procedures in the wake of the tragic shooting, which claimed the lives of 20 children and six adults, teachers and staff at the school.
