Prom dress donations sought for local youth

ST. MARYS – With school dances a nearly ubiquitous, albeit expensive rite of passage for students, two local women are collecting gowns to be given away to those teens that may otherwise be unable to afford them.

Jilted lover charged with break-in at ex-girlfriend's home

WEEDVILLE – State police have arrested a man they say broke into the Weedville residence of an ex-girlfriend before passing out drunk on her couch while waiting for her to come home. According to reports, 55-year-old Raymond L. Archuleta, of 23163 Caledonia Pike in Weedville, told police he just wanted "to visit with her," referring to ex-girlfriend Mona M. Burke, when he allegedly climbed into her home through a broken window on June 25.

Two injured in early morning crash on Bucktail Road

The City of St. Marys Police Department reports responding to a one-vehicle traffic crash that occurred Saturday morning, June 29 at 5:45 a.m. on Bucktail Road near Benzinger Road. A passenger in the vehicle, William Cooney, 18 and the 17-year old juvenile driver were transported to Elk Regional Medical Center by St. Marys Area Ambulance for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver was later transferred by medical helicopter to Altoona General Medical Center for further treatment. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.
