April 10th
ERIE – A St. Marys man charged with the theft of nearly a half-million dollars from the Elk County Humane Society as well as clients of his financial practice is now scheduled to accept a plea offer in an Erie Federal Courtroom later this month.
A pair of houses at the corner of SR 255 and East Arch Street were demolished on Wednesday morning. The homes were taken down to allow for the future realignment of Arch Street.
Early plans were discussed regarding the possible re-location of the St. Marys Catholic Middle School into Elk County Catholic High School during two Parent Information Meetings held Wednesday.

EMPORIUM – A spike in the number of arrests involving stimulant bath salts continues in the wake of what local law enforcement are calling the drug's dramatic rise in Elk and Cameron Counties.
On Thursday, March 21, a routine traffic stop yielded a bag of what police believe to be bath salts as well as drug paraphernalia.
The new episode of "Our Town: St. Marys" is slowly but surely coming together. On Tuesday evening a number of community residents met with "Our Town" producers Whitney Chirdon and Jessica Peters at the St. Marys Area Middle School to discuss segment ideas and learn more about the production process.
A new mixer-style format is the setup for this year's annual Elk County Women's Social presented by the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are now on sale for "Viva la Vino," a celebration of wonderful women and wine, which is being held Wednesday, April 24 from 6-9 p.m. at the Elk Mountain Winery in St. Marys.

The St. Marys Area School District Board of Directors voted Monday to approve an increase in salaries and fringe benefits for its management level employees.
Faculty, staff, alumni and friends of Elk County Catholic High School paid tribute to the school's seven headmasters throughout its 50 years as an educational institution during the Fifth Annual Heritage Gala held recently.
RIDGWAY - A jury of 12 primaries and two alternates was selected in Elk County Court Monday to sit on the trial of a Ridgway man incarcerated on drug charges after police allegedly uncovered marijuana being grown on his property.

A number of dandelions have been seen making an appearance around Memorial Park over the past few days. While they are currently a nice sight to see after the recent snowy weather, area residents will probably not be as happy to see them throughout their yards in the coming months.
