Council reflects on restructuring workshops

Restructuring workshops to allow for more dialogue between St. Marys City Council members and residents on topics of concern was proposed by councilman Greg Gebauer during their recent reorganizational meeting.
"A true workshop meeting is essential for us to be able to discuss topics and issues that need to be talked about and then passed on to the regular meeting for voting on," Gebauer said.

ECC alumni, friends to celebrate Spirit Night

Adult alumni and friends are invited to sport their maroon and gold as part of the Elk County Catholic High School Alumni Spirit Night on Friday at Gunners Restaurant.
The event is slated to start around 9 p.m. following the boys basketball game. Alums are encouraged to attend the matchup as the Crusaders battle crosstown rival St. Marys Area Flying Dutchmen. The junior varsity game is set for 6 p.m. while the variety tip off is at 7:30 p.m.

DEP to sponsor agricultural assistance workshops

Melissa Aul, Resource Conservation Technician for the Elk County Conservation District, has helped to organize agricultural workshops for area farm owners. The workshops are sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection through the Chesapeake Bay Implementation Grant.
On Tuesday, Jan. 21 and Thursday, Jan. 23, workshops will be hosted hosted at the North Central Regional Planning Building, located along Montmorenci Road in Ridgway.
