Council members show interest in city study

Several members of St. Marys City Council have shown interest in potentially having a new study conducted regarding the city. The study would focus on various aspects related to finances, management and implementation.
Councilman Gary Anderson said he recently reviewed Bradford's report done by Delta Development Ground, Inc. under the Pa. Early Intervention Program (EIP) for analysis of its city's financial condition which he said provides a good base when reviewing wage, expenditures and more.

RIDGWAY – The Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous, and the chainsaw carving art form itself has evolved over the years.
Many of the carvers convening in downtown Ridgway were once humble beginners, creating mushrooms and bears from random logs. The mantra of late, however, seems to be "Go big or go home," as carvers continuously try to get better and better, and take on projects of seemingly epic proportions.
A prime example is Scott Dow, owner of Animalistic Chainsaw Carving Studio along U.S. Route 6 in Corry.

During their regular meeting for the month of February, the Elk County Conservation District further discussed upcoming increases for the dirt and gravel roads portion of the state's recently-passed transportation bill.
The program has increased funding sevenfold with Pennsylvania municipalities set to receive $28 million in 2015 as opposed to the $4 million received in 2014.
The county received its allotted funding for fiscal year 2014 on Monday, with $25,000 in the pot for registered municipalities to use on dirt and gravel roads.
