St. Marys man charged in firearms theft

A St. Marys resident is charged in removing guns from his mother's home and attempting to sell them.
Police report that Robert Herrick Pearsall, 25, of 172 Robin Rd., St. Marys, attempted to sell four guns at Elk County Ammo and Arms on April 30. According to the affidavit of probable cause, Pearsall's mother told police that the guns were left to her and and her other son by her late husband.

A major catastrophe was miraculously avoided Thursday in Kane when an alleged drunk driver in a pickup truck rammed a natural gas regulatory station on Oak Street.
"You dodged a bullet," said Bruce Manning, the director of the McKean County Emergency Management Agency (EMA). "If there had been a spark, there would have been a big fire."
Businesses, industries and homes in the area of Oak and North Fraley streets were evacuated for about one hour following the noon-time incident.
