John H. "Doc" Schauer, 82, of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, and formerly of 234 George St., St. Marys, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 24, 1928 in St. Marys, a son of the late Anthony J. and Luitgard Schinabeck Schauer.
Harry A. Detwiler, 90, of 216 Depot St., Ridgway, died peacefully on Jan. 21, 2011.
He was born at home in Johnsonburg on May 25, 1920, son of the late John M. and Bessie (Stine) Detwiler.
He married Audrey Geyer on Oct. 8, 1942. She preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 2004 after 61 years of marriage.
He had resided in Ridgway for most of his life and was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church. Up until his death, he was active in the Regional Advisory Board and Governing Board of the Office of Human Services, most recently serving as president.
Jennie Marie Rigard Afton, 96, a resident of the Jefferson Manor in Brookville and a former resident of 232 Charles St., St. Marys, died early Tuesday morning, Jan. 25, 2011 at the Jefferson Manor.
She was born April 13, 1914, in Force, daughter of the late Anthony and Eda Bellini Petrucelli.
Paul D. Schultz Sr., 63, of 8166 Shiloh Road, Woodland, and a former Wilcox resident, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Ridgway, son of the late Michael John and Josephine Bullers Schultz Sr.
On May 26, 1973, in the Queen of the World Church, he married Mary M. Greenthaner, who survives.
He was a lifelong resident of Wilcox until moving to Woodland three years ago. He was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School, Class of 1965.
James C. "Duffy" Haberberger, 82, formerly of 1050 S. Michael Rd., died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 5, 1928 in St. Marys, a son of the late Fred and Margaret Friedl Haberberger.
On Oct. 4, 1956 in Queen of the World Church, he married Anna Mae Lecker Haberberger, who survives.
Keiko C. Geci, 79, of San Diego, Calif. and formerly of St. Marys, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010 at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.
Â She was born Feb. 14, 1931 in Omura City, Nagasaki, Japan, a daughter of the late Senichi and Rei Uragaki.
Â On Jan. 18, 1971, she married Rudolph Geci, who survives.
Mary Mulhern Trambley Schreiber, 84, died at The Washington Home in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 21, 2011 after years of declining health.
Susan M. Pleskovic, 54, of Brownstown, died Jan. 20, 2011 at Windber Hospice.
She was born Feb. 17, 1956, in Johnstown, the daughter of William and Maeline (Kysel) Pleskovic Sr.
Susan was the former owner of Consolidated News.
She is survived by her mother; her brothers and sisters, Francis, married to (Kathleen) Hecker, Johnstown, Barbara, married to Mark Walczak, Reading, Mark, married to Anna, Johnstown, Kathryn, married to Robert Petrosky, Johnstown, Christopher, married to Lydia Trio, Johnstown, William, Johnstown, and Michael, Johnstown; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Pamela Ann Locke, 50, of Francis Place, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at her home in New Castle.
She was born Aug. 7, 1960 in St. Marys, a daughter of Joan (Caskey) Gnan and the late Harold Gnan.
She married Kenneth L. Locke Sr. on Nov. 17, 1997. He survives in New Castle.
Mrs. Locke was a front-end coordinator at the Butler Avenue Giant Eagle for 19 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, the outdoors, and four-wheeling. She also loved people and will be sadly missed by her dog, Bella Mia.
Bret P. Cooney, 30, of 9008 Maple St., Pittsburgh, and formerly of Wilcox, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 20, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville as the result of a drilling rig accident that occurred Jan. 14 near Scranton.
He was born March 1, 1980 in St. Marys, the son of Charles P. and Jean Bauer Cooney, who survive.
